Women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) require progesterone medication to help support early pregnancy, but the intramuscular injections for some forms of this medication can be painful for patients. Formulations of progesterone medication which can be administered by subcutaneous injection or vaginal suppository may offer similar results with better patient tolerance.

Building Work Starts On The Largest IVF Facility In The NHS, UK
A £3.3m plan to reorganise Reproductive Medicine services in Leeds, bringing them together for the first time in a single purpose-designed facility which will improve care for fertility patients, is getting underway. Building work will begin in the first week in January on the scheme, which will allow the two current fertility services in Leeds to be centralised on the Seacroft Hospital site into one unit.

Schering-Plough Announces European Submission Of Fertility Medicine Corifollitropin Alfa
Schering-Plough Corp., (NYSE: SGP), a leading provider of fertility treatments, announced today that the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) has validated (accepted for review) its Marketing Authorization Application (MAA) for corifollitropin alfa, the company's experimental, sustained follicle stimulant (SFS). This application will follow the Centralized Procedure.
